Committed to Impact: welcoming the DiNN Advisory Board

Do it Now Now is for the community and we are continually reshaped by the remarkable people who come through our programmes. We are committed to evolving our resources to meet the ever-changing needs of the community we serve. The Advisory Board will guide how we design and deliver our resources and programmes, increasing impact in how we empower future Black leaders. They will directly influence the systemic development of equitable opportunities and outcomes for our community.

As such we are delighted to announce the formation of our Advisory Board made up of people with lived experience of the problems we are solving, who will amplify the voices of those directly participating and benefiting from our offerings. In addition to their individual expertise in key fields such as HR, Branding and Marketing and Mental health and wellbeing, they have all successfully completed one of our programmes over the past few years and have remained committed to our community since then, providing mentorship and support to new entrants, and advocating for more and better opportunities for our service users.

Introducing the Advisory Board

Ali, a skilled professional in the third sector with specialisms in the youth sector, came through on of DiNN’s programme and has been involved in various ways ever since. She is a community-focused communicator that leads a fantastic organisation called Carib Eats that focuses on impacting the community one meal and one conversation at a time. When asked what impact means to her, she said:

“Impact, to me, is the ripple effect of meaningful connections, shared experiences, and the sense of belonging we create in our communities. It’s about making a genuine difference in people’s lives, one connection, one conversation, and one act of kindness at a time.”

DiNN had the pleasure of working with her and her organisation, Vivify Therapy, in one of our programmes, and we are delighted to have her help guide our collective future. On Impact, Priscilla shared:

“Impact to me means seeing someone's vision and walking alongside them to help bring it to fruition. In the therapeutic work I do, this looks like supporting people to: develop better self-care habits, to build better relationships, to overcome shame and regret, and to live authentically in line with their values. As an Advisory Board member, my wish is to be able to support Black communities to create thriving businesses that close the wealth gap, without sacrificing their mental health.”
