Innovation Prize winner!

You Voted for Bukyia

The winner of the most recent AfriTech XYZ Innovation Prize is Bukyia, a food delivery platform from Nigeria.

Out of all our applicants, 4 startups will receive in-depth support that will encourage them to think bigger, build quicker and do so in a sustainable way. After an open call for voting, Bukyia won the additional prize of financial support. A small contribution to helping them achieve their next big goal.

The Innovation Prize is delivered by AfriTech XYZ and our expert partner Hogan Lovells.

More about Bukyia

Bukyia (meaning stove) was created to empower local food vendors (popularly known as Joints in Ghana, Kibandas in Kenya or Buka in Nigeria) to deliver Africa’s authentic and budget-friendly meals online and expand to new neighbourhoods through cloud kitchens.

Bukyia understands the technology literacy gap in the space and has developed a practical way that allows the so-called ‘informal vendors’ which consist of 95% women to be included in the digital economy.

Another Innovation Prize will launch in early 2023, to be the first to hear about it, please signup for the AfriTech XYZ newsletter.
